At PLAKA, design starts with a message, not a mood board. We begin with a clear emotional and cultural statement, then build visuals around it. If a graphic looks good but says nothing, it does not make the cut.
From there, we move into concept development: line-work, type treatment, placement studies, and scale tests on real garment dimensions. We prototype early and repeatedly. Artwork that works on screen can fail on fabric, so every piece is tested in physical form.
Fabric selection comes next. We prioritise heavyweight cotton with strong recovery and structure so the silhouette stays clean after repeated wear. Fit is tuned for our oversized profile: room where it should be, shape where it matters.
Final production starts only when all four pillars are locked: message, graphic integrity, fit, and material quality.
That is the PLAKA process from concept to final drop.
